Call back the answers from the whole class, having one student read the question and another read the passive version. Answers: 1)Xi’an is visited by thousands of tourists every year. 2) Was the Great Wall built at the same time as the Grand Canal? 讲解：重点句型 〓〓1. 【课文原句】 The garbage is then taken away and, if possible, recycled. 【句型解读】 这里if possible为状语从句的省略，其完整形式为if it is possible。状语从句省略主语时，连词后若是系表结构，主语和系动词均可省去；若没有系动词，则将连词后的实义动词变成分词即可。各种状语从句均可用“连词+形容词 / 现在分词 / 过去分词”的省略结构。如： Loot when crossing the street. 过马路时要当心。 Though refusing to come, he still arrived. 他虽然拒绝来，但还是来了。 She hurried away as if angry. 她急匆匆地离去好像生气了。 【知识复习】 if引导的其他常见省略情况： if yes“如果这样的话”；if not“不这样的话”；if any“如果有的话”；if necessary“需要的话”；if so“如果是这样的话”；if ever“如果曾经有的话”。 2. 【课文原句】 The “Green” movement tries to get governments to thinsly about the environment and how to look after it. 【句型解读】 句中的how to look after it为“疑问词 + 不定式”结构，作用相当于名词性从句，可在句中作宾语、主语、表语等。常用疑问词有：what, which, when, where, how, whether,if等。如： 用法练习 ____一、 选择填空。 1.
